Let The light Through With Sun Control Window Blinds

Sun control window blinds start where regular slatted horizontal blinds leave off. There are times of the day and certain conditions that just can't be solved by conventional horizontal blinds.

I had a customer who had just built a new house on the intercoastal waterway. The day they moved in they realized they had a problem. The morning sun util about 11Am came down, bounced off the water and right into their living room, and the kitchen.

The condition was so bad that you couldn't even look to the east the glare was so intense. In effect, they couldn't use the east half of the house in the morning.

After studying the possibilities we decided that sun control window blinds were the only way to go. They were the only blind to give total control, the others only gave partial control. They wanted to enjoy the view all the time.

The morning after we installed the blinds was the first time they could enjoy the ocean view. The blinds in the lowered position eliminated 80% of the glare coming off the water, and the neat thing was that after a few seconds your eyes grow accustom to the blinds and you see right through them as though nothing was there.

The blinds are perforated with tiny holes that eliminate the glare but allow you to see right through them.

There are several types of sun control window blinds. The ones my customer got are like a roller shade full of those little holes. Because the drop was large and the opening huge they went with the motorized version. They are available in both the manual and motorized version.

They are also available in the Levolor Riveria mini blind. The mini blind slats come perforated with the little holes which stops the glare, but allows you to see through to the outside.

These types of blinds are no good for privacy, especially at night, because with the lights on you can see right through to the inside from outside.

Despite the lack of privacy there are times when these blinds are the only solution to the problem.

A number of retail business have taken to putting these blinds in their windows. My barber put them in the waiting room and it cut down on the heat and eliminated the glare altogether.

Wendy's right down the street have them in their dining room and the customers love them.

Sun control window blinds can and will solve the majority of those problems dealing with glare and visability. Use them wisely to gain control.
