Outdoor patio window shades help you keep your cool
No matter how hot the temperature soars outdoor patio window shades help to make the outdoor experience enjoyable and down right fun. This assumes that you have a covering over your deck or patio. If your lid is missing then check out the article on retractable awnings.
Whether it's the morning sun coming from the east or the afternoon western sun it can be brutal and a real party pooper. Drenched in sweat and eyes squinting from the glare of the sun does not make one happy and ready to party on.
To party on one need to be fairly comfortable and not fighting the elements. Well outdoor patio window shades are sun tamers first class. They just roll down take control of the situation and send the heat and glare packing.
You can tend to the rest of the party the outdoor patio window shades will take care of the sun and glare.
The one company that has taken the lead by a mile is Gale Pacific with there brand of Coolaroo blinds and shade sails.
The coolaroo shades are so good looking that a lot of people mount the shades on the inside of the patio to keep from needing to go outside to raise and lower the shade.
They come with that clutch system that is so convenient to raise and lower the shade. Just a continuous beaded cord that stays put ready for action anytime.
The shades are made of coolaroo's famous polyester weave fabric that block 90% of the sun uv rays to keep you cool and comfortable.
The desert sand color is my favorite because it blends right in and allows your eyes to go right through it. There are five different colors to choose from as well as two different thicknesses.
To me the thicker one is two thick and does not allow for easy viewing of the landscape. I like to look outside so it's the 90% one for me.
They go as wide as 144" and are easy to install. They are made with steel rollers and mount either on the wall or ceiling with just four screws.
The only disadvantage that I can see is due to the steel roller and clutch system there is an 1 3/4" gape on the clutch side and a 3/4 ' gape on the other side that won't receive sun control on an inside mounted shade.
If you are putting these shades on an outside mount just go at least 3" on either side of the opening and you'll be fine.
The shade sail are made of the same material but you anchor them overhead to provide shade where you need it.
