Do-It-Yourself Blinds and Shades
I’ve been recently talking to a friend of mine who likes to change her blinds for her windows as often as a pair of shoes, and I’ve asked her why she is not embracing the Do-It-Yourself Blinds and Shades technique. She could save a lot of money on making her own blinds and adjusting them as necessary. She was not sure what I was talking about, so I explained her more in depth.
For many people making their own shades seems something entirely mysterious and out of their area of expertise. However, it doesn’t need to be this way. Do-It-Yourself Blinds and Shades is something that everybody can do with just a bit of knowledge about it.
The trick about it is taking proper measurements. This is because first the shades need to be properly aligned, or squared up, and then must be fitted to a window which is not square. This is not small feat indeed. However taking proper measurements is the half work done.
All the areas of the window need to be measured up: the top, the bottom, and the middle, the inside of the window, the left, center and right side as well. Plenty to measure here, granted. But if this done properly, will allow the window blinds to function optimally when they are opened and closed.
There are various Do-It-Yourself Blinds and Shades that one can do: from Roman style shades to roll styles, all is possible. All you need is a little creativity, precision, a bit of work and the image of the final result constantly in front of your eyes.
