It just doesn't make sense to have a nice porch, patio or deck then have to wait till the sun starts to go down to be able to enjoy and make use of the area. By adding a motorized retractable awning you have full use of that patio anytime you choose.

Retractable awnings usually come in both manual and motorized models. The manual is just what the name suggests. You take down the supports and the shade retracts. With the motorized models you simply flip a switch or hit the remote button and the awning retracts on its own.
Either way there is a minimum of work involved. Manually it takes a couple of minutes to take down the supports and stow them away while with the remote you just hit the button and it retracts by itself.
I here you saying it's still hot during the middle of the day! I will be the first to admit that it's hot during the middle of the day - down here in Florida it's hot morning, noon and at night during the summer months.
Back in Illinois where I grew up they used to say that on a hot, humid day in the summer you can go to the corn field and hear the corn growing. Down in South Florida you can here the corn growing anytime of day except that it's too hot for corn to grow down here in the summer.
